Ya....let me tell ya about it

I fail at updating this haha! I have been crazy busy at work. I hope to get better at updating when I'm in Florida. Well just a few things to update on this time. First of all I officially have a roomie!!! Her name is Sammie Bigornia. She's a cool and amazing girl!! Only 29 more days! Been thinking of switching to tumbr too. I'll still log on here so I can keep up with my bestie in Virginia but I think my next blog will be on tumblr.

I also got in touch with someone from Disney about auditioning for the American Idol Experience in Hollywood Studios....and they said as long as I audition before traditions then I should be fine! So excited/nervous about it. Still have to pick a song, practice..man! I know that I shouldn't be as nervous as I am, because this isn't even the show. This is just a thing they do at Disney World. But if you win the Dream Ticket that day you get to go to the front of the line at any American Idol audition in the country! Fingers crossed!

Packing has already begun. Just barely started and my room is already a mess! I just have most of my movies and all of my cds packed. Next I'll move on to books.

Had quite the eventfull week at work. I worked monday-friday 2:30-7:30 every night. I was a greeter all 5 nights...longest nights of my life! Though monday and tuesday it rained all day, so I had to spend both days drying off carts. That made the time go somewhat faster. Next week I work 32 hours which is amazing! I'm thinking maybe they're starting to like me. I have 2 inventory shifts, which I'm nervous about. Never done inventory before. Not even last time I worked at Target. Hope that's a good sign.

Now that the semester is officially over I just have to get through this crazy week and then I can focus on DISNEY!!! So excited!! Well that's all for now. As they say have a magical day!

So on and so forth....

So this is just going to be a quick little update. Not much has been going on lately. I started my seasonal job at Target and things seem to be going well so far. I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. I still love register more then being on the floor. Not sure why but I do. I found out I will be closing black friday again =/. Not looking foward to that at all. Last year was a nightmare!!! Hopefully I'll get an easier section this year. Last year I got infants and it was horrible. For some reason people with babies seem to think they are allowed to throw every piece of clothing where ever they want. Oh well.

Anyways something great happened today!! My bestie Donna got married to an amazing guy named Robbie! Congrats to the newly weds!! I am so happy for them. It's about time though! I know they will be happy together. I am so happy that she is getting all that she deserves even though it's so far away =(

Though today was a happy day I couldn't help but feel a little jealous and sad. I'm seeing all my friends getting married and having babies, and it kind of feels like I don't have anyone. I'm a little different then most girls, so it's harder for me to find love. I know if the time is right I will find that one special guy, but it just kind of sucks being alone.

Also only 1 more week til Thanksgiving and only 6 days til I get to see my aunt from California!! Yay!! What are the chances she'll pack me in her suitecase and take me back with her? Lol. Happy (late) Halloween!!!!!

  
Happy late Halloween folish mortals!!!! Ok that was lame. Had a pretty busy weekend. Friday I got a good night out. Had a nice halloween party with my sisters and had a blast!! We played some dance party 2, karaoke, and I got to meet the new member of the Kingsbury family. Welcome to the world Kiera Kingsbury!! Ur in for a wild ride lol! Junk food and soda galore! I was in heaven! I dressed up as the amazing Michael Jackson. Saturday went to another halloween party, but this one was at my mom's friend's house in Marana. For those of you who don't know...Marana is a little outside of Tucson....which means we had no idea where in the world we were. I at least got to dress up as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I thought I looked pretty awesome as a rag doll lol! I knew the host of the party because I worked with him and my mom for a brief time during my temp days at Arizona Mail Order, so I thought I would go and be the DD. They decided to make it an "adult only" party to serve alcoholic beverages. I did not partake in any of these. I'm a good girl! I got a good kick out of my parent's "crazy football fan" costumes! Once I get a hold of the pics I'll post them here. The time came where we wanted to leave, so we said our goodbyes, I took my sally wig off and started the car. Getting home was nothing short of an adventure! With the combined elements of my nervousness, our lack of direction, and crankyness, I was thankfull to get home to my own bed that night. But we all still had a good time!

Now HALLOWEEN!!!! Day started off with some lounging. Then I actually got up and started cleaning the house for the guests that were coming over. Then left around 3 to go to my Target orientation. Then come to learn the orientation was now wednesday. Once I got home I finished cleaning and my family came to hang out and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters. My cousin drew Scraps the Dog on a pumpkin (by hand!), and we carved it. All our neighbors were out and we all had a great time! I reprised my Sally costume, and we had sandwiches, soda, and chips. One of our nieghbors was playing grim grinning ghosts, and had pumpkins that sang along to it! It was actually really awesome! All in all great weekend. I've really been missing my east coast besties Kirsten and Donna lately though. I keep seeing their cars everywhere!! I love u both and can't wait to be on the east coast with u both!!! I would also like to wish my dad a very happy birthday today!! We just took him to one of his favorite steak houses, and I ate way too much. =/ Well that's all for now. I'll try and keep posting more often once things pick up. Now BRING ON THE HOLIDAYS!!!

Update...ishh

So much like my amazing and beautiful bestie Donna (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!) I had a pretty great day on wednesday! Started off the day by automatically getting hired at Target! Yeup didn't even have to interview. I'm just that awesome! Lol only kidding. Manager said since I worked there before I just had to fill out paperwork.  My orientation isn't until Halloween but oh well.  I can still save up some money for Florida. Only downside was waiting for 2 hours to take a drug test =/. Sat around the house for a bit then hung out with my lovely friend Bunny. Managed to find her a cute warbler jacket and a warbler sweater for her nephew (don't sit on him donna!) to wear on halloween. Came home and found out my dad had made my favoirte meal of all time ALBONDIGAS!!!! It had to be the best he's made so far. We sat and ate the Albonigas while watching the newest Pirates of the Carribean movie. Pretty much an amazing day. So Donna ur bday should happen more often!!

Thursday wasn't so great though. Laptop wasn't working, had a headache, all alone at home. Ya not fun. Then I got a text that I really didn't want to get. My friend Bunny didn't get into the DCP =(( Now I have to go at this solo. Also wanna find a flying buddy (any takers?) Then found out my car is in desperate need of new tires that I can't afford. Oh joy.  At least the night wasn't so bad. KFC, Grey's Anatomy with my mom, and my bro cracking us up!! Today doesn't seem much better, but the day is still young! I'll try and update again asap.

Phone Interview

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to take one of the most important interviews of your life! Lol, well maybe one of the most important. Ok so as I previously mentioned you will recieve an email with a link to set up your phone interview. When you get to the page you will be able to select a date, then given the times available on that date. Warning: MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE THE CORRECT TIME ZONE!!! On the top of the page you will be able to select which time zone you live in. Again, make sure you choose the right one!! You don't want to be on the west coast, pick a 10 o'clock interview time, then have someone call at 7! I almost did this! That would not have been pretty. Then you're groggy, unprepared, and sound horrible. Anywho, your interview will take place 1-3 days after your web based interview. After you set it up all that's left to do is wait. Ok so now the day of the interview had arrived! Here are a few tips and tricks that have helped me with my DCP interviews. Write down anything you may need to know for the interview (like which roles you picked, and why you picked them). Have your phone and notes ready about 15 minutes before your scheduled interview time. They may call earlier or even later, so it's always better to be prepared! Make sure you're in a quiet place with no distractions. This is important! You want to be able to focus on the interview and hear everthing the interviwer is saying. Not to mention it's just more professional. SMILE!! Even though the interviewer can't see you, they can hear if you sound excited or bored. Smiling will definatly help you sound a lot more excited. Maybe toss in a little Disney lingo here and there. Things like guest (customer), cast member (employee), ect. This is fun, and will show that you are truely dedicated to the Disney Company! Above all else RELAX AND BE YOURSELF! This is probably the most important thing to remember. The interview really isn't that bad. After a while it's just like talking to a friend. I hope these have helped! Good luck to everyone interviewing!!!!!

Application for the DCP

Now the fun stuff.....the application process. The DCP application is not much different then your average application. You put your name, social, previous employment and school, ect. Ya nothing to exciting. I'm very happy that you can apply online now! I remember when I applied to the DCP in 2008 I had to fax all my info over. Once you've finished and submitted your application, you will recive one or two emails (two in my case). I had one that said "Thank you for your interest in the Disney Company," then another with a link to take the web based interview. You have to take the web besed interview within 5 days I believe of submitting your application. This interview will consist of two parts. The first part is basically describing yourself. It's questions like "I like being in situations that require me to do this and that" You will either put This is me or No. The second part should be questions giving you random situations. You have to either mark agree or disagree. Once you have finished the web based interview, you will automatically be told whether you passed, or failed. If you failed, don't sweat! Some of the questions can be very tricky. Just get 'em next season! If you pass, you will recieve another email with a link to set up a phone interview.

Intros and such

Well hello!! As you can see from my about me section, I decided to create this blog for two reasons. One: to keep up with one of my best friends on the east coast, Two: to keep everyone up to date on my Disney College Program in Florida.I figured since I'm gonna be on here I might as well blog!! I'm from Tucson, Az, 22 years young, and I love singing, glitter, and of course DISNEY!!!  For those who don't know what the DCP is, it is a paid intership at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. They set you up with a position within one of the parks or Downtown Disney, let you take classes for credit, and a place to live. I will be leaving for the Walt Disney World Resort program on January 16, 2012. It will be a long trip from Tucson, but It will be worth it!

I know what you're thinking. Why aren't I doing the Disneyland program? Well again a couple reasons for that. Disneyland would be a lot harder to get into (I've already been rejected from it), and my friend had a really horrible experience with the Disneyland program. That's not to say people going into the Disneyland program are going to have a horrible experience. I'm sure it will be the opposite. I jut really wanted to get into the program, and I thought the Disney World program would give me a better chance at that concidering they have more positions open. Well that pretty much sums things up for now. I will blog later, until then as they say "Have a magical day!"
